Capabilities and Certifications
Hubschman Engineering specializes in obtaining construction approvals for complex projects requiring review by the NDJEP and obtaining approvals through the local and county approval process. Our expertise extends to conducting detail flood study and riparian area analysis as most streams and water courses within the northern new jersey area now require a 300 foot riparian zone. We have prepared riparian area disturbance plans for larger homes and for smaller projects such as the construction of a pool and cabana. Our firm also has extensive experience in filing under the new NDJEP 2007 flood hazard area rules for “Permit by Rule”, and individual Flood Hazard area permits.
Our staff is well known and respected as experts appearing before planning boards and zoning boards in Bergen County and neighboring counties providing presentations for variance applications, site plan applications, and property subdivisions.
Our staff includes the following licenses and accreditations:
- Licensed professional engineers in the state of New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, and Florida
- Licensed professional surveyors state of New Jersey
- Licensed professional planner, state of New Jersey.

Hubschman engineering was formed in 1984 by Michael J. Hubschman. Robert Mueller joined the firm as a partner in 1995. The firm is now located at 263 South Washington Avenue, Bergenfield, New Jersey in an office building owned by the company. The firm currently has 10 full-time employees: 4 professional staff, 3 technical staff, and 3 office administrative and support staff.
